Nora Helenius Jassak, MS, CCC-SLP, is a pediatric speech-language pathologist. She received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1993 and her master’s degree from The College at Saint Rose in New York in 1997.
After graduating, Nora followed her passion to work with children and families. She began her journey in New York as an early intervention provider, supporting families and their children (ages 3-5) in homes and daycare settings. Nora then branched out to work in the school settings in New York and California for a combined total of 9 years. She had the opportunity to provide services to preschool-12th grade students with various communication concerns and abilities.
In 2016, Nora and her family moved to Germany, where she worked as a civilian with the United States Army. Working with and supporting active-duty and civilian families and their children became a highlight of her career. Implementing the coaching-model of services positively impacted the families. This model of service supports the parents and their children by helping them learn to incorporate communication strategies and skills into their daily activities and routines. Nora is collaborative, resourceful, empathetic, reflective, and creative. She believes that the connection and relationship she forms with the children and families is the key to success.
Nora is passionate about working with articulation/phonology, language development, and Autism. She is Hanen trained in the “More Than Words” program and has her DIR 201 DIRFloortime Basic Certification. Nora’s philosophy is that children have many strengths and interests, and making connections and building on those strengths and interests creates an atmosphere and environment of learning and growing.
